Albemarle College offers broad GCSE and A-level curriculums in Sciences, Computing & Mathematics, Business & Humanities, Languages, Arts & Literature
.
Excellent A-level Results
Albemarle has a reputation for
excellent A-level results.
Every full-time, two year A-level student has achieved
a 100% pass rate with grades of A, B or C. Students are taught
very much by traditional methods, in small groups, concentrating
on the skills needed to pass examinations and to be successful
at university.
Specialist Tutors
All tutors at Albemarle are subject specialists and most
have experience as examiners. They are particularly successful
with young people: able to motivate and communicate with
them in ways which they understand. Barriers are quickly
broken down, enhancing the learning process.
Personal Mentors
At Albemarle each student has a personal tutor who will
monitor their progress and help them to meet targets for
work submission. They'll also provide advice on study skills
and career choices.
Small Classes
Class sizes at Albemarle are kept small - the average is
four to five students, with a maximum of eight in each class.
Tuition is very much centred on the students who are encouraged
to participate fully and, most importantly, to think for
themselves.
Careers Advice
All our A-level students plan to go on to study at a reputable
university and we provide specialist advice on choosing
a suitable degree course and university. Many students find
choosing the right course a daunting task so an important
part of our job is to equip students with the tools they
need to make that choice. Many of our alumni visit to offer
advice to current students and provide an insight into their
experience of university life.
The Principals
The principals themselves take an active role in career
planning and arranging work-experience, essential to getting
students on the right path to success.
