Albemarles Co-Principals, Beverley Mellon and James Eytle, had two key objectives when founding Albemarle: achieving excellent examination results, and success in placing students at the top UK universities. Today, these objectives are as valid as ever and both Beverley and James maintain very much a hands-on approach, teaching some classes themselves.

Beverley Mellon
Having read mathematics and computer science at Cardiff University, Beverley trained as an accountant before entering teaching. She still maintains strong links with the accounting, banking and financial services industries and students wishing to enter these professions benefit greatly from her advice and experience.

James Eytle
James read biochemistry at King's College, prior to completing a master's degree in biomolecular science. He began his teaching career at Bloomsbury College, where he was responsible for their highly successful medical and dental school programmes. James now oversees these programmes at Albemarle.

The two Co-Principals act as personal mentors to students, overseeing their study programmes and offering advice on degree courses and career goals. They take personal responsibility for ensuring that students achieve a place at a university that best suits their needs and help prepare them for their chosen career. They liaise with parents, university deans and professionals from a wide variety of industries to ensure that students benefit from a range of opinions.
