Albemarle Independent Private College in Central London

Visa and UKVI requirements

Students from outside the EU need a Visa to study in the UK. This will generally be a Student Visa for students aged 16 or over, wishing to pursue a programme at Albemarle. Some international students, depending on their immigration status, may be exempt from requiring a Student Visa to study in the UK.

Albemarle College will issue a student with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) once they have:

  • Been interviewed by one of the Principals (either in person or via Zoom)
  • Provided the relevant qualifications
  • Satisfied the English Language requirement - in most cases this will require a satisfactory pass in the IELTS or PTE exams
  • Paid the appropriate deposit
  • Shown that they can fulfil the maintenance requirements for the duration of their course (academic fees and living costs)

Once a student has enrolled at the college we will help them to adjust to life in the UK. This includes registering with a doctor, opening a bank account and applying for student discount on London Transport. We have a dedicated Welfare Officer who will help students to settle in and will be on hand for any help they may need.

Student visa holders should check the endorsement on their visa to see what rights to work they have. Some may be able to work part time depending on their circumstances.
